The major additions and enhancements in PPC Tablet v4.0 include:

• Added a Remote File System profile to execute programs on the host computer, or download files from the computer to the Pocket PC. (For music lovers, you can user this profile to browse through your collection of music files on the host computer, and play it on the computer by executing it.)
• Added a Display Feedback profile (like a Remote Desktop), which allows you to view the host computer screen directly from the Pocket PC screen and control it.
• Enhanced the Scroll Area component to support both vertical and horizontal scrolling.
• Now the Server application supports multiple connections, which allows a single host computer to be controlled by multiple users for collaboration.
• Enhanced security in the Server application.
• Added the option to automatically log in without prompting.
• Enhanced stability for the Server application when the network connection is disrupted.

1/18/2006, v3.0 Release

The major additions and enhancements in PPC Tablet v3.0 include:

• Support for Windows Mobile 5 devices.
• Support for VGA screen resolution.
• Support for both Portrait and Landscape orientations of the screen, at QVGA or VGA resolution.
• New "Scroll Bar" component, which sends scrolling actions to the host PC when you slide your finger across the Pocket PC screen.
• The user interface for recording key macros has been streamlined. The keyboard layout is now optimized for both portrait and landscape modes. A few bugs related to key recording were fixed (such as key combinations involving Alt key).
• A special "Wait" button was added to the “Record Key Stroke” screen. This button inserts pauses into the sequence of key strokes that you are recording. It is useful when some of your key strokes will trigger an action that requres more time to process, such as loading a program or opening a dialog box. Now you can wait for this action to complete before the next key stroke is executed. (You still need to estimate how many seconds you want to wait.)
• We also added a "Release All" button to the “Record Key Stroke” screen, to release all currently pressed Ctrl, Alt or Shift keys (which is useful in recording some rare key combinations such as "Ctrl-Shift".)
• Performance enhancements in screen drawing and refreshing.
• The option to enable encryption for better security, or disable it for better performance.
• The option to automatically load a specific profile when PPC Tablet is started.
• User interface enhancements throughout the Client, Designer and Server applications.
• The Server application is now better integrated with the Windows taskbar, and provides more options.
• More streamlined switching between Client and Designer applications, making it easier to create or modify a layout profile. When you are in the Client application, you can click "Tools -> Edit This Profile" to load the currently opened profile in design mode (the same way as when you open the profile in the Designer application). After you are done with the changes in design mode, you can click "Execute This Profile" to run it. (When you are in design mode, you will see the gridlines in the background.)
